World Diabetes Day

Today we celebrate World Diabetes Day, as in the day set aside to remember Sir Frederick Banting’s birthday. Banting was the Canadian scientist who, in 1923, earned the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine (in collaboration with John Macleod in charge of the study’s funding) for using insulin to treat diabetes.
