Likert Scale

When composing surveys, we often have at least one question using the Likert Scale. Named after the psychologist who invented it, Rensis Likert, the scales enable survey participants to express agreement or disagreement, like or dislike, etc. Most often five levels are used such as:

  1. Strongly disagree
  2. Disagree
  3. Neither agree nor disagree
  4. Agree
  5. Strongly agree

A good resource was created by Clemson University and can be accessed here. It includes levels for categories such as importance, priority, desirability, frequency, satisfaction, and much more.
