International Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, Georgia

Did you know that each year Macon, GA celebrates a cherry blossom festival (known in Japan as “sakura matsuri”)?

Macon features the same cherry trees as you’ve seen in Washington DC but, unlike DC, where you can see 1,700 cherry trees, when you come to Macon you’ll see over 300,000 Yoshino cherry trees!!!

Attended by visitors from around the world, this 10-day festival, takes place in Central City Park in Macon, GA from 11 am to 9 pm daily between Friday, March 25 and Sunday, April 3. Admission to the festival is $5 and children under 10 get in free. The park is located at 153 Willie Smokey Glover Drive, Macon, GA. Enter through Levee Road and exit through Luther Williams Ballpark.
