Georgiana saved the day when our program director asked me to take over as instructor for an online course at the last minute.  Georgiana and I only had one day to update the course materials in 2DL but we were able to meet the tight deadline due to Georgiana’s expertise in instructional design and in-depth knowledge of the learning management system. As a new faculty member at Augusta University who was used to using Blackboard Learn at a different university, Georgiana’s online tutorials and in-person one-on-one instruction have allowed me to rapidly become familiar with 2DL so that I can effectively manage this online course and develop new ones.

Georgiana is amazing! She provides “at the elbow” de-frustration of D2L, but more than that, she knows what you really need D2L to do even when you have no idea. She helped me set up a very sophisticated site that my students love and can easily navigate, with drop boxes that open and close at just the right time, videos, and all kinds of creative and interactive teaching ideas.

There are so many things that D2L can do that you’ve probably never thought of! Just tell Georgiana what you need to communicate, and teach, and let her go… she will hear your real issues and come up with wonderful answers. Give it a try!

Teaching Effectivenes

As faculty, we wear many hats…Teacher, Advisor, Mentor, Researcher to name a few. Faculty workloads are bulging at the seams, yet we want and need to improve our courses/programs by utilizing instructional technologies.

Georgianna and the team came to our rescue. She has and continues to provide great expertise and knowledge in the area of instructional design and technology. The level of support she provided to the Health Information Administration program began simply as a syllabus template for our traditional and online courses, and grew in to a complex role as project management for a data analytics project we are completing to measure curricular competencies in our program (to meet new accreditation requirements).

I can’t over-stress the level of professionalism and expertise Georgianna has provided to us. Her efforts will allow our program to measure student and program success, with the end result being the successful reporting of programmatic outcomes data to our accrediting body.

Instructional Design and Technology Assistance

Georgianna has provided D2L training to several new Radiation Therapy faculty as part of their on-boarding process. She is extremely flexible in scheduling training that is convenient to the faculty, even if it’s after hours or off-campus. She is very patient and professional, offering great time-saving tips and suggestions for course development and ease of navigation for students.

She helped create modules, upload files, create tests/surveys, set-up the gradebook. She also reviewed features such as ePortfolio, discussion forums and Dropbox and how they could be incorporated into courses to enhance learning and engage students. Tremendously helpful for new and “old” faculty!

On-Boarding New Faculty

I’m an instructor of English and Foreign Languages Department. Georgianna has helped me to do my job more productively. She built all the modules according to my needs and gave me the full instruction to use D2L system patiently, which allows me to get access to course-related files, attendance, e-mail to students, news, and grades “anytime, anywhere”. Every day I log in and use D2L for my Chinese language courses. I love the grades and attendance module. I appreciate Geo very much! She’s so nice and kind!

Boosting Productivity

Georgianna has added tremendous value to my courses.  She suggested creative ways of presenting online content and organization of my courses in D2L that made the material more accessible to students.  She also guided me in the use of the tools available in D2L to encourage students to view important online content prior to class.  Georgianna is definitely the go to person when I need a fresh approach to course presentation.

Accessibility, Content, and Organization Assistance

I am a professor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the Shanghai University of TCM. Over the past years, Georgianna helped create several brand-new courses in TCM at Augusta University. These courses led up to a graduate certificate in acupuncture, the first of its kind in the University System of Georgia. In this process, Geo helped propose each new course, took me and my colleague through creating course development plans and syllabi, helped set up the various components of the D2L courses, etc. When I moved here from China to initiate and teach these TCM courses, Georgianna helped me transition to Augusta and Augusta University. Thanks a lot Geo! I will encourage my eventual successor from China to take advantage of your instructional-design services.

Creating a Graduate Certificate & Introducing TCM to Augusta University

Georgianna worked with me to prepare weighted grading for the grade book in my Nuclear Medicine Procedures courses.  By grouping together grade averages for groups of activities, I was able to have final grades tallied and weighted automatically by the end of the semester.  It’s been an excellent time-saving tool.
